Purple, UW’s custom AI tool, is moving from concept to reality. And it’s already being tested across all three campuses.
You may have started hearing about a new AI tool at UW. It’s called Purple, and it just reached a big milestone.
What Purple Does
Purple is built to support work across the university. It helps with:
- Human Resources
- Student Services
- Facilities
- Research
- Administration
It’s designed to make tasks faster, easier, and more accurate. In the future, you’ll be able to build your own AI agents with Purple to fit your specific needs.
Who’s Testing It
Last month, UW Information Technology got early access to Purple. This month, we expanded testing to 150 people across all three campuses. Testers include students, staff, and faculty from many departments. They’re helping us see how Purple works in real situations. Thank you to all our testers!
Why It Matters
Purple isn’t just a tool. It’s a new way to work. It helps people get things done and opens the door to smarter solutions across UW.
