Team,
I am writing to let you know I have accepted an appointment as the inaugural Chief Transformation Officer at the University of Connecticut (UConn), beginning in early January.
While I am excited about this next chapter, the decision to leave UW was not an easy one. Over the past four years, I have had the privilege of working alongside an extraordinary group of people. Together, we have navigated difficult challenges, made important decisions, and strengthened our organization. We have also advanced initiatives that will benefit the University for years to come. I am proud of what we have done, but even more proud of how we have approached the work and the organization we are becoming.
I have often said that one of us is not as good as all of us. My time at UWIT has only reinforced that belief. The talent, commitment, resilience, and care that you bring to this organization are remarkable. You have shown what is possible when people choose to work together, trust one another, and remain focused on something larger than themselves.
There will be time in the coming weeks to reflect on our work together and to say proper goodbyes. Between now and January, my focus will be on our priorities and ensuring a thoughtful and effective leadership transition. I will work closely with University leadership and our Executive Leadership Team to keep momentum and provide continuity. Interim leadership arrangements will be announced once decisions are finalized.
I have tremendous confidence in you and in the future of UWIT. The progress we have made belongs to all of you, and the work ahead is important. Thank you for your trust, your partnership, and your willingness to challenge one another. Leading this organization has been one of the great privileges of my professional life.
And remember, teamwork is a choice. It is one worth making every day.
