2020 CIP Codes Load Into EDW
On Tuesday, October 6, 2020, the new 2020 CIP Series will be loaded into the Enterprise Data Warehouse. This affects any table that contains CIPKeyId. The tables that contain CIP code reference data are dimCIPCurrent and CIPAcademicYear in EDWPresentation. What is included in CIP code updates? Part 1: CIP codes with descriptions from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). Part 2: Federal STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) indicator provided by Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE). This indicator is updated at irregular intervals. Spend Financial Data Now Available in EDW
In October of 2018, in partnership with the Financial Data Group, the UW-IT Information Management team completed the capture of all suppliers from the University’s Procurement Accounting System (PAS) in the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). The next step in securing PAS data focused on the Spend financials and Diversity indicators for those suppliers. With access to PAS Supplier, Spend and Diversity Data, campus departments can get information to help them evaluate, manage and plan their financial expenditures as well as meet all their Federal reporting requirements. UWSDBDataStore Reorg on June 6, 2020
The student database (SDB) will go through a reorganization on June 6, 2020 which will cause changes in the Enterprise Data Warehouse database, UWSDBDataStore. These changes to the objects will be available in the UWSDBDataStore on Monday, June 8, 2020. However, data on the new objects will be available as soon as the Data Custodians submit the security role definitions and the SIS team loads the data. The Newest Addition to the EDW: Time Travel with dimTime
If you work with time data, a new reference table in the EDW makes it easier than ever to manipulate time in your SQL query. What is it? The new dimTime table has a row for each minute of the day for a total of 1,440 records. EDW Payroll data will include NWH and UWP employees
As part of the Enterprise Data Warehouse's support for the Northwest Hospital Integration effort, beginning with the next payroll, pay period Jan 1-15, the EDW payroll data will include the Northwest Hospital (NWH) and UW Physicians (UWP) employees who are all now UW employees as of the beginning of 2020. Column Change: EarnType in BudgetActivityDetail
The Change The length for column EarnType (description) in the BudgetActivityDetail table has been increased from a varchar(25) to a varchar(255). EDW HR/Payroll data will be paused 12/27-12/28 to support Northwest Hospital Cutover
Between December 26-29, 2019, Northwest Hospital and UW Physicians employees will be integrated into Workday. During this transition period, employee data from Workday may not be complete. Therefore the EDW will proactively pause daily HR/Payroll data updates until the fully integrated employee data is available. The last EDW HR/P daily load before the pause will be on the morning of Thursday, December 26, 2019. We plan to resume daily updates the morning of Sunday, December 29, 2019. EDW & EWS Data Changes Coming to Support Northwest Hospital (NWH) and UW Physicians (UWP)
This is a heads up on upcoming changes to both the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and Enterprise Web Services (EWS).
